Fase 1: Prendete una manciata di letame. Raccogliete il letame dalla cima del mucchio, non dal fondo.
Fase 2: mettere il letame in un guanto o in un sacchetto di plastica.
Fase 3: aggiungere acqua, assicurandosi che tutto il letame sia sommerso, e impastare il letame. Se non tutto il letame è sciolto, aggiungere altra acqua.
Fase 4: appendere il guanto o il sacchetto per permettere alla sabbia di scendere sul fondo. Se si utilizza un sacchetto di plastica, assicurarsi che uno degli angoli sia rivolto verso il pavimento.
Fase 5: Dopo circa 30 minuti potete controllare se e quanta sabbia è visibile.
Fase 6: Se si vede della sabbia, allora si può essere certi che c'è della sabbia nell'intestino del cavallo ed è consigliabile somministrare un trattamento contro la sabbia come Pavo SandClear.
Fase 7: ripetere il test per almeno 3 giorni consecutivi per ottenere un risultato affidabile. Solo un buon risultato del test non è garanzia di un intestino privo di sabbia.
